Co-Dependency Awareness

Four weeks of one hour classes deal with the issues of those who are caught in the cycle of addiction as the "significant others", spouses, family members, friends, and co-workers of the person using. Co-dependency or co-addiction is identified as a disease in that the behaviors of rescuing, enabling, controlling, and taking on responsibility belonging to the dependent individual effect the well-being and health of those around the addict/alcoholic. The Co-dependency awareness classes give an overview of the disease, help to identify how co-dependency has impacted our lives even if we are now alcoholics/addicts, and provide tools to help us change the unhealthy patterns created in our lives by co-dependency. Children who were raised in dysfunctional homes often become adults using the same ineffective coping skills learned in our families of origin. Clients are encouraged to face the painful past and find healing and hope. Call Theresa at 573-481-0505 for information and intake.
